Disability Resources

Colorado government programs and non-profits can help residents with a disability. Numerous resources are available and they are wide ranging. Assistance is for the individual, their caregiver and immediate family members as well.

A number of programs and organizations in Colorado offer benefits to the disabled. Assistance includes cash from SSDI, free medical care, home delivered meals, and much more. All of the resources are aimed at ensuring residents with a disability get the support they need. Some of the main programs available are noted below, however, call an agency for the latest information.

While a focus is on seniors, the Colorado Department of Human Services, Division of Aging and Adult Services (https://www.agingcare.com/local/Colorado-Division-of-Aging-Adult-Services-Denver-Area-Agency-on-Aging-CO) is a great resource to the many non-profit community and government agencies that can provide in-home services to the needy and homebound disabled as well. The assistance is focused on adults age 18 or older and is run in partnership with the County Departments of Social (Human) Services. Many services are available including transportation, nutrition, including home delivered meals, and information on medical care.
